Assigning Transaction Type to Credit Card Payment from Bank Account

I'm confused with the idea of assigning a Transaction Type to credit card payment from a bank institution in quickbooks online. There are a total of 4 types of transaction types. These are Expense, Transfer, Check & Credit Card Payment. It will make logical sense to assign it to Credit Card Payment, but I'm still confused. I'm confused because this can also be classified as a Transfer correct? Is there a definition for Expense, Transfer, Check & Credit Card Payment?

IMHO, there are lots of ways to register a credit card payment and they all work, but the way I would do it is make your payment to the credit card, then click on +New, then "pay down credit card" and fill in the form and save.
