Question

Backdating a receipt to keep it in 2024, when the transaction occurred

I have two payments received in late December that I am just sending the receipts for, now, in Early January.
Can I date the receipts in late December even though I am sending those receipts in early January?

Yes, @galvanicmac.

I'll share insights about how entering dates in transactions works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can date the receipts for the payments received in late December with the actual transaction dates, even if you're sending the receipts in early January. This approach ensures that your financial records accurately reflect when the payments were received, which is particularly important for year-end financial reporting and tax purposes.
