Thanks for reaching out, @paynesharon2.

At this time, there are only a few different report options available that have the ability to show what's backordered. You can run two separate reports to show what's on hand and available vs. what's backordered. I'm including a few report options that I think will give you the information you need.

To see what's backordered you can always run a Custom Transaction Detail report. Here's how you can customize it:

  1. Go to Reports, and choose Custom Reports.
  2. Click Transaction Detail.
  3. In the Search Columns field, search for "Backordered" and "QTY." Then, select them by putting a checkmark.
  4. Go to the Filters tab.
  5. In the Search Filters field, enter "posting status," then choose Non-posting.
  6. In the search field, enter "transaction type."
  7. Click on the Transaction Type drop-down arrow, and choose Sales Order.
  8. Click OK.

I'd suggest memorizing this report so you can access it in the future. You can also export the report to Excel. This way, it can be saved, stored, and transferred digitally if needed.

Go to the “Sales and customers” group of reports. Run these reports to know what’s on hand and available:

  • Inventory Valuation Summary: The quantity on hand, value, and average cost for each product.
  • Inventory Valuation Detail: Your transactions for each inventory item, and how they affect quantity on hand, value, and cost.
  • Physical Inventory Worksheet: Your inventory items with space to enter your physical count, so you can compare to the quantity on hand in QuickBooks.

That should do the trick. Please let me know if there are any other questions or concerns I can assist you with. I'm happy to lend a hand. Have a good one!
