Can a customer add a tip to an invoice

I send my customers invoices. They want to add a tip but don’t see the option to add it. I have the tips setting toggled on in my settings. How do I add the option for them to tip?

I'm here to assist you with enabling your customers to add a tip while paying their invoices in QuickBooks Online.

 

With an active subscription to QuickBooks Payments, you can provide your customers with the option to add tips. When your customers pay their invoices using the new estimate and invoice layout, they can see the tip options. However, please note that tips will not show on the Recurring Invoice template, but only on the specific invoices with the setting turned on. Therefore, if you've set up Autopay, you won't be able to add the option to tip.

 

To verify whether the option to tip is available on your customer's end, I recommend sending a dummy invoice to your email. If you can see the tip options, you can suggest to your customer to check their email again using a private browser to rule out any cache-related issues. However, if the issue persists, please reach out to our Customer Care Team for real-time assistance to ensure you can use QuickBooks features seamlessly.

 

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to reach us:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu and select the Search tab.
  2. Next, click Contact Us.
  3. Then, enter a brief description of your concern and select Continue.
  4. Lastly, choose either Start a Chat or Get a Callback to start connecting with them.
