Can anyone tell me how to change what's on the "business purpose" dropdown when categorizing mileage? I have duplicates but can't figure out where to change the item list

Can anyone tell me how to change what's on the "business purpose" dropdown when categorizing mileage? I have duplicates but can't figure out where to change the item list

I've got the steps to help you change what's on the business purpose dropdown when categorizing mileage, Steele. 

 

If you're referring to the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) browser version, we can follow these steps: 

 

  1. Go to Miles menu. 
  2. Click the trip you want to categorize. 
  3. In the Business purpose section, select or type in the reason for the trip. 
  4. Hit Save

 

On Android and iOS devices, we can: 

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Choose the menu icon and then Mileage.
  3. Select the Unreviewed tab.
  4. Find the trip. Swipe left to categorize the trip as Business. Or swipe right to categorize it as Personal.
  5. Add a purpose for the trip.
  6. Select the vehicle you used.
  7. Click Save.

I'm fine with adding new purposes but what I need to know is how to DELETE items on the existing list of purposes as there are duplicates

Thanks for the additional details about your concern when tracking business trips, JSteele2. I understand you would like the ability to edit or remove previously saved business purposes.

 

For now, there's no option to delete or modify the list of business purposes you have already used when tracking trips. Once saved, those purposes remain available for future trip tracking.

 

I can see how allowing users to edit and delete previously used business purposes could help keep trip tracking organized going forward. This is valuable feedback I will make sure to pass along to our QuickBooks Self-Employed product team for consideration in potential future enhancements.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Assistant located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Type Feedback and click the Add a Feature button.
  3. Enter your request in the field.
