Question

Can I change my company name in accounts and settings? I keep getting a -955 processing error... thus I can't even set up an invoice header

QB prohibits me from saving my company name, which is a dba of my legal biz name.

Thank you kindly for your interest and guidance in a novice QB user's problem.  Prior to my post, I had consulted customer support (via phone) 3x on this issue, and was made aware (the 2nd time) that there was a problem . . . but no solution has been forthcoming.  (I do appreciate your confirming the problem though.)  Concerning the creating an invoice, I receive an "application error in processing my request" so it seems I am prohibited in updating the info on the invoice until the -955 issue gets resolved.  It is somewhat frustrating.  Is there a workaround other than whiting-out the company name and writing in the proper?  🙂

Your patience is truly appreciated as our engineering team diligently works to ensure the accuracy of the information in your accounts, @someonesinthekit.

Regarding the error message you encounter when updating information in your invoice, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to address this matter.

Sometimes, numerous cached files can cause unusual browser behavior. Let's access QuickBooks Online through a private window.

Here are some key shortcuts for accessing a private window:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If you were able to update your invoice successfully, then the cause of the issue must be with your regular browser. I recommend clearing your browser's cache or using another supported browser as an alternative.

I've attached articles that help you customize your sales form the way you want it.

I'll be right here to help you if there's anything else that you need. Just let me know by leaving a reply below. Take care!

I am getting the same error code while trying to update company info and customizing my invoice.  It will not let me customize any field! I have tried different browsers, etc and nothing is working.  Any solution yet??
