Can I duplicate an estimate to make minor changes for different options?

I'd like to give multiple estimates on a deck project without having to recreate the whole estimate to change one part of the estimate, like changing the materials, i.e., composite decking vs. treated lumber, or aluminum railings vs. composite railings.

Yes, you can duplicate estimates and have minor changes, @stevea2. To achieve your goal, let me assist you.

You can take advantage of QuickBooks Online (QBO) feature that allows you to duplicate an invoice or estimate. This feature comes in handy when dealing with repeat invoices for customers, as it saves time by enabling you to create an exact duplicate of an existing invoice without having to re-enter all the information. To duplicate an invoice or estimate, follow the steps below:

  1. In the left panel, click Sales.
  2. Go to Estimates and decide what transaction you want to copy.
  3. Select the dropdown arrow and hit Duplicate.
  4. Modify the estimates as wanted.
  5. If done, tap Save.

Furthermore, once your estimates are ready, you can easily convert them into invoices. QuickBooks will automatically populate the invoice with the information from the original estimate.
