Can I just edit posting dates that changed from 2023 to 2022 in expenses?

It is possible to modify the posting dates of your expenses in QuickBooks Online. However, it is important to note that making changes to last year's transactions can potentially have an impact on your records. Additionally, if your books have already been closed, you will need to reopen them to edit the date period.

 

To modify the transactions in question, please follow these steps: 

 

  1. Click on the Gear icon, then select Chart of Accounts
  2. Locate the account that is affected, then select your expenses. 
  3. Edit the date and click Save.

 

Before making any modifications, I recommend consulting with your accountant because this could impact your financial statements and reconciliations.

 

You can also run reports within the program to track the snapshot of your business.
