Question

Can I make a billable expense charge closed (or converted) without making it into an invoice? It still needs to be marked billable.

Some clients like the invoice to be done in a specific way, so I expense them the total with receipts instead of each line item.

Making a billable expense charge closed without making it an invoice isn't possible, kkeffler.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), billable transactions can't be marked as closed unless it's linked to an invoice and paid by the customer. We consider our customer's ideas and suggestions. This will help us refine user's needs. In the meantime, while your expected feature is unavailable, I suggest you send feedback to our product engineers. Here's how:

  1. Tap the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under Profile.
  2. Enter a description of your product suggestions in the field box.
  3. Click Next to submit it.
