Thank you

I found that I had to make the columns to the right narrower before I could widen the  Account Name column.

Hi KenBrag!

Yes, you can make the Journal Entry columns wider. Just place your mouse's pointer on the cell line the separates the column names until you see the two-opposing arrows, then click on it and drag your mouse.

That's it. Feel free to reach out if you have other questions.

Have a good day!

I know how to make the columns wider when I am looking at the screen, but if I add an item or go to another screen and then return, the columns are again their "original" width.  I am looking for a way to set the columns to the desired width and then have them STAY that way.  Is that possible with QB or something that the design doesn't allow for?

I've replicated your concern, Photo-Al. QuickBooks Online already allows you to widen the columns and remembers it even if you switch to another screen or log out.

Let's try a few steps to fix this. First, let's open the program using an incognito window. Go to the journal entry page and widen the columns. If its' not going back to their original width, let's go back to the main browser, then clear the cache. This helps load the program faster and refreshes website preferences.

On the other hand, you can use a different browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
