Question

Can I print an entire years worth of checks in advance? I have bills set up in recurring transactions but they only seem to "appear" once a month when they are due.

Hello there. I'm here to assist you in printing an entire year's worth of checks.

To begin with, are you trying to print the checks themselves, or are you trying to get a snapshot of the checks you've made?

We can
manually enter a Check instead of creating a recurring transaction if you're trying to print the checks themselves, for we can't print recurring transactions unless it's already recorded in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, let's go to the Expenses and print the checks:

  1. Go to Expenses, located in the left panel.
  2. Click Print Check.
  3. From there, modify the rest of the field.
  4. Tick the box of the specific Payee.
  5. Click Preview and Print

Ensure that your printer is set up properly, so your checks will align and print out correctly.

On the other hand, if you're trying to get the summary of the checks you've created, we can follow the steps I've provided below:

  1. Go to the Expense tab.
  2. Change the transaction type to Check.
  3. Select Filter, then continue modifying the rest of the field.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Once done, locate the Print icon below the New Transaction.
  6. Once located, click it, then Print.

Additionally, you can always run the Check Detail report if you need a snapshot for these checks. To be guided, check out this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you need further assistance printing your checks or have any QuickBooks-related concerns. Keep safe.
