Question

Can i retrieve previously sent estimates?

I had created an estimate and sent it through QB to the customer. I ended up converting that estimate into an invoice, and updated it to reflect the part of the work that was completed. I am hoping I can go back and review that initial estimate that was sent to the customer, now that the original no longer exists in my system.

I understand your concern about retrieving previously sent estimates. In QuickBooks Online, you can retrieve sent estimates using the Recent Transactions List, the All Sales tab, and the Audit Log. Here are the steps to retrieve a sent estimate:

  1. Go to the upper corner and click the Search icon, then find the estimates in the Recent Transaction list.
  2. You can also view the estimates in the All sales tab and filter to narrow down the list of created estimates.
  3. Use the audit log to track your estimates. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right-hand corner and select Audit Log. Then, use the Filter button to narrow down your search.

If you're unable to locate the estimates, it's recommended to perform troubleshooting steps such as using a private or incognito window, clearing the browser cache, or trying other supported browsers.

Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies.

Additionally, you can also learn to enter bills and record bill payments in QuickBooks Online.
