I go to my project and add invoice, type invoice. The project name shows on my screen but when I print or email, the project name disappears, why?

Good morning, @Mary Wheeler.

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're having a great day so far.

At this time, we're unable to show the project's name when printing or emailing the invoice. Only the customer's name associated with the project will be displayed. I understand how beneficial this feature would be for you and our other users. With that said, I want you to know that I'm submitting this suggestion to our Product Development Team for further review.

In the meantime, you can add custom fields to your sales forms and manually enter the project's name.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Under the Sales menu, click on the Sales form content option.
  3. Enter a Name for the field something like Project Name, and put a checkmark on both the Internal and Public options.
  4. Hit Save and then Done.

When you create an Invoice, still select the project under Customer and type the project name again on the field you just created so it will display when printed. To review the form, click the Print or Preview menu at the bottom of the Invoice page.

For more information about this process, check out this help guide: customize your sales forms.

That should do the trick. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm happy to lend a hand. Take care!
