Can I switch the account that a receipt is attached to? I have been trying to figure this out with no luck.

Hey there, johng. No worries. Allow me to provide some steps for you to be able to change your preferred account for your receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once you upload your receipt to QuickBooks, you can make any necessary edits to the receipt, add it to an account, or match it to an existing transaction in the For review tab. You can follow the steps below on how to switch to another account:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab and select Receipts.
  2. From the Reviewed tab, locate the specific receipt and click on Undo match from the ACTION column.
  3. The receipt will now go on the For review tab, then click on Review from the ACTION column.
  4. From there, you can edit what account to select on the Bank/Credit account dropdown.
  5. Under Account/Category, choose the Income or Expenses account type.
  6. Click Save.

Furthermore, you can refer to this article if you have a receipt and you want to email it to QuickBooks: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.
