My invoice template was changed for some reason. How can I get the old style back?

I'm here to help update your template in QuickBooks Online, Barry.

Before we proceed, may I know what invoice window you're seeing right now? Are you using the new invoice layout or the old one? Any details you can add would help us provide the appropriate steps to address your concern.

If you're still using the old invoice layout, follow these steps to change your default invoice template:

  1. Go to Settings and select Custom form styles.
  2. Look for the invoice template you used before, then click the Action drop-down list.
  3. Choose Make default

If you're in the new invoice experience window, it could be that the Service date button was turned on. This is why you're setting the Service Date column. To turn this off, proceed with these steps:

  1. Click Manage on your Invoice window.
  2. Select Customization.
  3. Toggle the Service date button to turn it off.
  4. Continue creating the invoice and save your transaction.
