Welcome to the Community, richardslawnwf.

As of now, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have an option to turn off the bold texts on the invoices or estimates.

As a workaround, you have the option to create and import your own form style using MS Word. Let me show you how.

First, we need to turn on this feature. Here's how:

  1. At the top right corner, click Gear icon.
  2. Select QuickBooks Labs.
  3. Scroll down the screen and toggle the switch for Import Style to On.
  4. Select Done.

Then, design your own template in an MS Word file. Once done, you can import it to QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. At the top right corner, click Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Custom Form Styles.
  3. Click the New style drop-down.
  4. Choose Import style.
  5. Click the drop-down under Select a form type, choose invoice or estimate.
  6. Click the link Download a sample, and make your own import form style.

After uploading the form style, you can print the invoice or estimate with your preferred text formatting.

Also, I encourage sending feedback to our engineering team by going to the Gear icon, then selecting Feedback. This way, they can consider checking and working on the option to change the text formatting right on the Custom Form Styles page.

Two years after this original question - Is there finally any way to turn off the Bold text when customizing invoices in Quickbooks online? I'm surprised there are so few customization options. The boldness and the limit of how wide you can make the product name/description column in your invoices makes the letters very tight together since they are so bold. Any suggestions of how to customize font style, and column width greatly appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to us, @mhearst.

At this time, we can only change the font style and size when customizing forms in QuickBooks Online. However, you can adjust the column widths to give that product Name and Description columns more space.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom form styles.
  2. Choose the form that you're currently using.
  3. Select Edit from the Action drop-down.
  4. Click the Select a different font option, and make the necessary adjustments.
  5. Go to the Content tab and select the second blurred section.
  6. Go to the COLUMNS section and click EDIT LABELS AND WIDTHS.
  7. Adjust the column widths and select Done.

Furthermore, I can understand how the ability to turn off the Bold text would be handy. Rest assured that I'll relay this message to our team in concern here on my end and add your vote for this one.
