Can I upload saved W-9's into my Contractor's information?

Yes, you can upload W-9s into your contractor's profile if you enter their information manually in QuickBooks Online (QBO), billing. We'll guide you on how to complete this process below.

 

We have two methods for entering contractors' data in QBO. You either enter manually or you let them fill it out themselves. 

 

If you enter the contractor's W-9 information manually, here's how you can upload the form into their account:

 

  1. Go to Expenses or Payroll, then select the Contractors tab.
  2. Choose the contractor’s name.
  3. Select the Documents tab to upload a copy of the W-9.

 

If you've invited them to add their own tax details in QBO, you'll have to ask them to sign in to their QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account and upload their W-9 on your behalf.

I followed the above directions, and once I got to the Documents section, it said waiting for info, but there was no edit section for me to input the W-9. How can I input it?

Thanks for chiming in on this thread. 

 

The reason you're not seeing the option to upload it yourself for your contractor is because you've already invited them to add their own information. They'll need to upload the documents for you themselves.
