can individual accounts and associated reports be password protected?

We have several individuals who have access to the QB database, but only one should be able to add transactions to/view one of the accounts and reports generated from that account.

Is there any way to password protect the account to avoid inadvertent access to it?

Creating a password for specific reports isn't possible in QuickBooks Online (QBO), MNtom. However, we can customize user roles to manage access levels. I'm here to help you with that.

In QuickBooks, you can't password-protect individual accounts or reports. Instead, you can manage user roles and permissions to restrict access to certain areas, including transactions and reports, to prevent unauthorized access.

Here's how you can manage user access in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the YOUR COMPANY, select Manage users.
  3. Find the user you want to modify, then click Edit.

  4. In the Roles section, click the dropdown menu to choose your desired roles.
  5. To add additional permissions, click on the View all permissions dropdown.
  6. Hit Save changes.

Furthermore, did you know that the QBO Advanced plan offers custom roles? Consider upgrading to QBO Advanced to seamlessly create and manage custom roles for a user with specific positions.
