Can someone tell me how an employee in the tracking time section is suppose to know if they are to choose billable or customer?

I'm here to clarify how the Customers and Billable field functions in QuickBooks Time and help you handle your concern, Jamie.

 

When your employee clocks in using QuickBooks Time, the Billable field will appear in the Time Clock tab, whether or not you’ve assigned a customer. Keep in mind that the options they see depend on their profile settings.

 

To check if you’ve assigned the Customers option, follow these steps: 

  1. In QuickBooks Time, navigate to the My Team menu on the left panel to view the list of your members.
  2. From there, click on the employee's name to open the Team Member Details screen.
  3. Click on the Customers menu on the left panel and check the setup.
