Can't enable PayPal or view customer email address in new invoice layout?

Hi,

Quickbooks keeps trying to move me over to the new invoice layout, but unfortunately it is unusable for me; the vast majority of my clients pay using PayPal, and I can't see a way to enable PayPal payments using the new invoice layout. The customer's email address is also no longer visible or editable.

Am I missing something?

I'd love to walk you through enabling the PayPal payment method and viewing the customer's address, @brightercoach.

Receiving PayPal payments with the new invoice layout is available. Just make sure you've set up your QuickBooks Payments account and connect it to QuickBooks Online. Once done, you can see the Payment options when you click the Manage at the top right section of the template.

Moreover, you're right that the customer's email address is not displayed. As a workaround, we can create a custom field so you're able to enter their information manually. I'll show you how:

  1. Select the Gear icon with the Manage button, then choose Customization.
  2. Click the Manage hyperlink at the bottom of the window to route you to the Custom fields page. From there, tap the Add field
  3. On the Add custom field window, enter the name and tick All Sales forms under the form type. If you'd like to include this during printing, enable the Print on form too.

I'm adding these resources to help you learn what more you can do with the new layout and custom fields:

I hope these details confirm the feature availability that holds you back from using the new invoice experience. For any other sales concerns, add them below. Have a great day!
