Hello there, @MBorg. I'm here to ensure you're able to create a new income account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can effectively manage your transactions and keep your books updated.

Based on the complete list of the Account Type drop-down you've provided above, I can see that you're already utilizing the latest QBO platform. The reason you're unable to find the Income account because it's updated to Revenue. Whenever you're ready, let's go back to the Chart of Accounts page and add your new income account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Click New in the top right corner.
  4. Choose Revenue on the Account Type drop-down.
  5. Enter all other necessary account details (i.e., Detail Type and Name).
  6. Click Save and Close.

Additionally, I'd recommend checking out this article to learn more about the chart of accounts in QBO: Understand the Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online. It includes a detailed breakdown of account types and their definitions.

Let me know if you have other concerns about adding new accounts on your Chart of Accounts in QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

Hi MBOrg!

Thanks for posting here. Let me show you how to locate the income account.

We can search it in your Chart of Accounts. Go to the Accounting menu, select Chart of Accounts. Then, enter the account name in the Search bar.

If this doesn't work, let's perform some troubleshooting steps. Start by using an incognito window and locate the income account from there.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

We can also clear the cache since it fixes issues in QuickBooks Online. Lastly, make sure that you're using a supported and up-to-date browser.

Don't a reference on how to manage your accounts?  Check this link: Learn about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks.

Post again here if you need anything else. Take care!

Hello, MBOrg.

Thank you for getting back to us here in Community. You can follow my colleague's recommendation by logging in to your QuickBooks account using Private/Incognito mode. To verify if it's related to a browser issue.

If its works, you'll need to clear the browser's cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Or you can use other compatible browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

I'm adding an article to help you with detailed steps on setting up an in-kind donation in QuickBooks: Set up and record in-kind donations.

If you have any questions or clarifications, let me know by leaving a comment. I’m more than happy to help. Have a great day!
