I've seen posts to set up a location setting to assist with this but can't find on my version  QB Desktop Premier Plus 2024. Anyone know if possible? Thanks.

Hi there, @Comtel.

Let me share information about running reports by location in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Location tracking is currently unavailable in QBDT. However, I have another way to let you track your invoices per state in the application. Thus, we can run a Sales by Customer Detail report and customize it specifically for invoices and their designated state. Let me walk you through:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and search Sales by Customer Detail Report.
  2. Click the Customize Report button.
  3. In the Display tab, select Name State from the Columns section.
  4. Choose Transaction Type in the Filter tab, and select Invoice from the dropdown.
  5. Hit OK to save changes.

To learn more about running reports, visit this resource: Understand reports. It contains information on how to customize, memorize, and schedule reports in the program.

Moving forward, I would also suggest using the class tracking feature, where we can assign your transactions by department, business office or location, separate properties, or any other meaningful breakdown of your business.

You can always drop a comment if you have additional questions about managing reports, financial data, or other QuickBooks-related topics. Take care!
