Question

Can the sales tax rate appear on the printed invoice? Currently the invoice just shows "Tax" and then the dollar amount. I need it to appear as Tax 8.25%.

Hi there, pHPools0223.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to address your question regarding the appearance of the sales tax rate on the printed invoices in QuickBooks Online. I'm happy to inform you that it is possible to display the tax rate as "Tax 8.25%" or any other desired label on the printed invoices.

Also, when you use the Automated Sales Tax feature in QuickBooks Online, the tax amounts will be displayed in decimal format when printed. However, when you create the transaction, you will only see and select the tax rate in percentage form since the tax calculation is system-generated and based on your location.

However, if the same happens, I suggest opening your account using a private browser/incognito. Sometimes, issues can be specific to a particular browser, so switching to an alternative one can help determine if the problem lies with the browser itself. (Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N, Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N, Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P, Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P). Clear your browser cache once you can see the tax percentage amount when printing the invoice. Sometimes, accumulated cache files can interfere with the proper functioning of web applications. Clearing your browser cache can help resolve this issue.

I've added an article to learn more about how we calculate your sales taxes, and you can use this page: Use automated sales tax on an invoice or sales receipt
