Question

Can we enter a budget on a per project basis instead of a budget for the entire company as a whole?

I have the details you need concerning budgets per project in QuickBooks Online (QBO), kitana.

Currently, there is no option to establish a budget directly within a project. In QBO, you have the ability to generate a separate budget specifically for the project in the Budgeting section.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Budgeting under Tools.
  2. Click the Create budget button to start, and choose Subdivided budget.
  3. From the Subdivided by dropdown, select Customer. Then, choose who's the customer for the Subdivided for section.
  4. Then, click Next.

I can see the importance of having this feature available in the application. Thus, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product development team to take this one into consideration and review its benefits for the majority of business owners.

You can send your feedback by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.
