Hello there, @kevinf-the7and8-.

I've got some insights to share regarding creating an estimate for two sets of hours in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to generating an estimate that contains a single item for two sets of hours, this option isn't available. In this case, the system will still track the entry as one.

However, if you mean to create an estimate which includes details for two sets of hours with different rates, you'll need to create a service item for each hour (high and low). This way, you can select them upon creating the transaction, since QBO records the rate per item.

To do that:

  1. Go to the Sales menu at the left pane and press the Products and services tab.
  2. Click on New.
  3. Select on Non-inventory or Service.
  4. Add a name.
  5. From the Category ▼ drop-down, select the category that best describes your product or service.
  6. Tick the I sell this product/service to my customers checkbox. If you don't sell the item, you can leave it unchecked.
  7. In the Sales information section, enter a description. This is what your customers will see on their sales form.
  8. Enter an amount in the Sales price/rate field.
  9. Choose the Income account ▼ drop-down and the account you want to use to track the sale.
  10. Hit on Save and Close.

To give you complete information about this process together with selecting the right category for this item, please see this link: Learn how to set up product and service items you buy and sell.

After that, you may use the items made when processing an estimate.
