Some of our customers know us by a different name and we would like the invoices that go to them to have that other business name on the invoice. Is this possible?

Yes, @znelson-designer, you can use different invoice templates with different business names for specific customers in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To achieve the task, we can create two or more different templates with different names. For example: Customer Invoice 1, 2 and 3. Just make sure to select the correct form or template for this client every time we create an invoice.

Here's how to create a custom form style for every customer:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. From the Cog Wheel,  select Custom form styles under Your Company section.
  3. Click the New button and choose Invoice to start creating.
  4. From the Design tab, name the template where you can easily identify it and tailor its appearance according to your preference.
  5. Customize the details you want to show from the template in the Content section.

  6. Once finished, click Done.

Repeat the steps for the rest of the template. You can visit this article for more details: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

When applying it to your invoices, click the Customize button at the bottom of the Invoice page and choose which template to apply.

For future reference, you can browse this article in case you want to record your customers' payments in QBO: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
