Changing default settings of Cash Flow Planner

Hello there,

I have found myself using the cash flow planner function in QBO frequently, as I am starting up a new business and find it convenient to get a snap shot during these early months.  I know it is a "convenience" feature at best of QBO, but I am wondering if there is a way to change the default settings of what is presented on the planner?  Example, each time I view the planner, QBO offers "Predicted" items in my cash flow that aren't helpful.  Every time I check the planner, I have to change the filters for some of these items rather than just seeing what I want to in the first place.  Any thoughts?

Welcome to the Community, FPO.

Yes, it's possible. You'll have control over the data you see in your planner. All you need to do is customize it. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Cash Flow menu, then select Planner.
  2. On the planner page, select the small gear ⚙ icon.
  3. Select your preference.
    • In the Linked accounts section, you can select accounts that will show in the cash balance and in the money in and money out chart. If you don’t see an account listed, select the plus + icon to make sure it’s available.
    • In the QuickBooks section,  you can select the QuickBooks transaction types you wish to see on your chart. Each of its transactions imports from QuickBooks (such as future-dated invoices or bills) and analyzes to generate predicted items on the planner in the future.
    • In the Threshold section, you can keep a cash buffer of a certain amount on hand that will appear on the chart to help you visualize your cash threshold.
  4. Select Save.

Thank you, but I don't think that completely answers my quesstion:

First, What/where is this "

  • In the QuickBooks section,  you can select the QuickBooks transaction types you wish to see on your chart. Each of its transactions imports from QuickBooks (such as future-dated invoices or bills) and analyzes to generate predicted items on the planner in the future."

I don't have that on my options.  I just have linked accounts and threshold options.

I have Filters to turn on an off while I am viewing the cash flow at that moment, but I want to turn off predictions permanently...

I also would like an option to turn off certain transactions when looking at the planner. Specifically I don't like having the Estimates nor credit card show up on the planner because the credit card double-dips from transactions that are reoccurring and the estimates are not always guaranteed. It's annoying to have to turn those filters each time I access the planner.
