I'm using QBO

I would like to run a report of our entire g/l accounts that will show the parent account of each sub-account.

Or is there some way when I open the Chart of Accounts window to show the parent accounts on the screen for each sub-account?

Hello there, @Ruff21040. I want to ensure you'll be able to run a report to see your parent and sub-accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In the Chart of Accounts of your QBO, you can easily identify the parent account and its sub-accounts. Please see the screenshot below for a visual guide:

For more information, check out this article: About bank or credit card subaccount setup.

On the other hand, you can also run the Account List report and filter the data to show all parents as well as their sub-accounts. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu and search for Account List.
  2. Once opened, select the Customize button to add or remove filters and columns.
  3. When done, select Run report.
  4. In the report, you'll see a colon (:) sign for the accounts that are assigned as sub-account. See the snip below for reference:

I'll include this helpful resource that you can read to get more information about the account and detail types in QBO: Learn about account types and detail types in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have any other concerns managing your accounts in QuickBooks. Have a good one and stay safe.
