Why do all my closed invoices show as a negative amount. I wasn’t overpaid and it’s showing the full amount but negative.
Also the paid invoices are showing positive and have been paid in full

I'll be delighted to discuss with you the difference between a Paid and Closed status on an invoice, E gardens.

Based on your statement, it seems that you're viewing the transactions under the All Sales window.

When you create invoices in QuickBooks, the system automatically calculates and displays their total value in the All Sales window. Upon receiving payment for an invoice, QuickBooks updates the status of the invoice to Paid within this window to reflect the completion of the transaction.

Additionally, the corresponding payment to an invoice is recorded as a separate Closed transaction with a negative amount. This entry is essential to offset the original invoice amount, thus accurately adjusting the total in the All Sales menu to reflect the current sales balance.
