I am looking for a report to will show me the cost of goods that haven't been assigned to the customers project. Quickbooks desktop had this feature, I just can't figure it out for Quickbooks online. My end result here, is to ensure all COGS expenses have been accurately captured for each project.

Good day, srorke. I can share a report that displays your COGS data unassigned to any customer/project in QuickBooks.

It's possible through accessing a Transaction Report from the Profit and Loss report. Please refer to the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, and from the Standard tab, enter Profit ad Loss on the Find report by name search bar.
  2. Click the Total amount of the Cost of Goods Sold account. Doing so opens a Transaction Report for the COGS account.
  3. Modify the Report period accordingly.
  4. Select the Filter option and then + Add another filter.
  5. Pick Customer from the select one dropdown and then set the equals dropdown to is empty. It will show all COGS data not assigned to any customer/project.

You may also let the system memorize the modifications made to your reports. It helps save time reviewing your data in the future.

Tag me on this thread if you have follow-up questions about your COGS reports and transactions or when you need help with other areas and navigations in QuickBooks. I'll be here and always ready to assist.
