Does anyone know how to convert an invoice to an Excel format. Not a list just an individual invoice.  I could do it last week with the print button at the bottom but the new print and download just does PDF format. Thanks

Converting an invoice to Excel is crucial to keep a handy and separate copy of your sales transactions, Mona. I'll share details about this functionality.

The feature to save an actual invoice to an Excel spreadsheet is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. As for using the Print button, the ability has been updated to PDF format due to the new invoice interface.

As a workaround, I suggest running and personalizing an invoice report. Then, export the data to Excel. I'll show you how:

  1. From Reports, go to the Who owes you section.
  2. Select and open the Open Invoice Report. You can also select other sales reports.
  3. Customize the details by clicking FilterGeneral options, or Columns.
  4. Choose Export/Print, then hit Export to Excel.

To help you navigate and manage the reports with a new reporting experience, please see this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online using modern view.

Alternatively, consider visiting our QuickBooks Apps Store website and looking for a third-party converter tool (which offers this feature) that you can integrate with the program.

Please know that customer suggestions help improve the various features of our products. Therefore, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter a sentence or two to describe your idea and click Next.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our Product Development team to help improve your bookkeeping experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests page.

Additionally, QuickBooks Online allows you to automatically or manually send reminders to customers when your invoices are, or soon to be, overdue. It ensures they can pay you on time.

Please notify me in the comment section below if you need assistance navigating the new invoice layout or running other sales reports. I'm just a few clicks away from helping you again.
