Create project specific budgets

I would like to create project specific budgets and be able to compare actual cost against budgeted costs.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Travjr.
 

You can create project specific budgets by subdividing your budget by projects.
 

Here's how:
 

  1. Use the Gear icon, then go to Budgeting.
  2. Click Create new and give your budget a title in its Name field.
  3. From the Fiscal Year drop-down list, choose your fiscal year for the budget.
  4. Use your Interval drop-down to specify whether the budget is Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly basis.
  5. From your Subdivide by drop-down, pick Customer and detail which project(s) you want to subdivide the budget by.
  6. Hit Next.
  7. Enter your amount per account.
  8. Select Save and close.

 

In regard to comparing actual costs against budgeted costs, you can run the Budget vs. Actual report. This shows your actual income and expenses compared to budgeted amounts.
