I'm here to help and share some troubleshooting steps so your customer can pay the invoice seamlessly, iobuilders.

First off, I'd like to know what specific issue or error your customer encountered while paying the transaction. This information will help us identify any reported issues.

When you have a QuickBooks Payments account, you can send invoices directly from QuickBooks Online (QBO), allowing customers to pay online using credit cards or ACH bank transfers conveniently.

In the event that your customer doesn't see the Pay now button, enable QuickBooks Payments so that they can make direct payments from the sales entry. If they encounter an error when selecting the Pay now option, inform them to follow the instructions displayed in the message.

Also, provide your clients with the following troubleshooting steps if there are no specific instructions mentioned to resolve the issue:

  • Clear the browser's cache
  • They can right-click on the Review and pay option in the invoice email and copy the URL. Open a web browser and paste the link into the address bar. If the link still doesn't work, utilize another web browser.
  • Make sure their web browser is up to date.

If you don't have a QuickBooks Payments account, you'll still be able to email invoices to customers and record the payment manually in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the New menu in the upper right of your company and select Receive payment.
  2. Click the Customer drop-down and choose your client's name.
  3. Key in the date in the Payment Date field.
  4. From the Payment method drop-down, select the payment type you wish to use.
  5. In the Outstanding Transactions section, tick the box for the sales entry you're recording the payment for.
  6. Fill in the remaining fields.
  7. Press the Save and close button.
