Customer list with percentage of sales?

Hi There...

Is there an easy way I can generate a list of my customers from last year and the percentage of the year's sales that each one represents?

Thanks!

Ben

I'll make sure to help you today, @BenF.

We can pull up and customize the Sales by Customer Summary Report so we can add the (%) percentage column.

Let me show you how you can do it:

  1. From the left pane, select Reports.
  2. Under Sales and customers, select Sales by Customer Summary.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. On the Rows/Columns menu, put a checkmark on the % column.
  5. Click on Run Report.

Here's an article you can read for more details: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if I can be of any help. Have a good one and stay safe!

Hello @BenF,

In QuickBooks Online, you can pull up and customize one of your sales report to compare your customer's sales in percentage. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Under Sales and customers, select Sales by Customer Summary.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. On the Rows/Columns menu, put a checkmark on the Previous year (PY) and % change selection.
  5. Click Run Report.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can customize your report: How to get the most out of your financial reports?

Lastly, I've also included this reference helpful for the steps in saving the customization you made with your report: How to memorize a report?

If you have any follow clarifications with this or other concerns with QuickBooks navigation and task entry, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand

Wouldn't that create a report comparing this year's sale to last year's as a percentage of change? What I was asking about was to display each customers total sales for the year, and the percentage of that year's sales it represents. So, for example, if total sales was 1 million, and one customer did $200k, it would list that customer as having been 20% of the year's sales...

I hope that's clear. I don't think that's what you're showing me here..

@BenF

As another option, consider having a CRM app and/or a BI app to integrate with your QBO.

So you're saying it can't be done with QB?
