Same customer with multiple projects at different locations at the same time, project 1 at address A , and project 2 at address B. How you do this when project get address from the customer and not from project itself? If you change address to reflect project 1 location, then all the transactions on project 2 shows the address of project 1

That has been a long standing issue with QB, the only thing you can do is make a customer for each location.  Change the name slightly, I add a period, middle initial, etc

Thank you Rustler,

That doesn't"t work for me, I am a subcontractor and work with the same contractors for many years in many projects, and to find any records on the future will be a mess, this is a simple need, I think the solution should just to add an address field on the project itself, that have to come from developer itself, hope they listen to the users.

I agree with this and am in the same boat! This is a nightmare not being able to assign an exact address to the building site for the individual projects of a builder. If you could just enter a different address on each project under the builder name then problem would be solved. SMH

Hi, dajja.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out here in the Community.

As Rustler mentioned, applying the same customer to different addresses and projects would require slightly altering their name. Since so many of these changes would need to be made in your situation, I'll do my part and pass your feedback along to the Product Development Team.

As QuickBooks evolves, we strive to include great user suggestions like yours in product updates. You can find out more about these types of updates by viewing our Blog: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/.

I wish you continued success. Please feel free to reach out to me here if you have any other questions.

Is there a way to do this yet?  I have two companies in QBO that do work for the same customer at hundreds of locations throughout the year and need to have the address associated with each project as opposed to just my customer.

I can share some information about creating a project in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @KIRSTEN2020.

The feature to set multiple addresses to a single customer is currently unavailable in QBO. That would be a great addition to the current features that we have, so I'll take note of it.

I also invite you to visit the Firm of the Future site. It contains resources and tips to help easily use QuickBooks.

Let me know if there's anything that I can further assist with your customer transactions. I'm always here if you need more help. Have a wonderful day!

This issue really needs to be put near the TOP of the list.

As a construction subcontractor, our entire business is set up to serve the same clients at different projects.  Repeat business is exactly what we are after.  For now I am setting up each project location to be a sub-customer of the main customer but really this shouldn't be a hard fix.

Now when my guys are using T-Sheets, we have to set up multiple customers that really are the same customer.  This is really going to screw with our billable hours.

Adding project address shouldn't be this hard.

We want to use a time tracking app with GPS features, but there's no address in the project, so how can this work? Quickbooks only does costing for time if you use Projects, but projects don't link with Tsheets properly for address tracking. Quickbooks is pushing Tsheets, but doesn't seem to have put any thought into how this actually works.

Hello there, @DynamiteBooks.

I can see the benefit of being able to use a time tracking app with GPS features in QuickBooks Online (QBO). That's why I'm here to share further details about this.

Currently, you may find a third-party application that can integrate addresses to your projects in QBO while the said feature isn't yet available. This way, you're able to link your projects with TSheets and track addresses accordingly. Let me guide you how.

You can either visit our App Center through the website or directly within QuickBooks to find integrated apps. To search for apps through QuickBooks, here's how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu.
  2. Select the Find Apps tab.
  3. Use the search bar to find apps or the Browse category drop-down button.

I've attached a screenshot below for your reference.

In the meantime, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing the growth of your business through QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about data security, banking, and expenses, to name a few. You can click the + More topics button to view other selections.

Drop a comment below if you have other concerns about handling project transactions in QBO or inquiries. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

Anyone find a solution on this yet? I have a project but I need to bill portion of it to one customer and the other to another customer.

Hi Carrie43,

I understand how helpful it would be for you if there's an option to share 1 project to two customers and take payments from each of them. While we are unable to do this setup in QBO, I encourage you to send feedback to our engineers. This way, they can consider creating such an option in future updates.

  1. Go to Help and choose Feedback.
  2. Enter a summary of your feedback.
  3. Click Next.

If you have other questions about projects, feel free to go back to this thread. Take care and have a good one!

It is disrespectful to us for a QB team member to tell us to send a feedback to an issue reported 4 years ago.
