Question

Do your layouts in edit no longer match the final pdf? The Color bar containing client & invoice details changed from side by side to stacked. Can it be fixed?

This isn't the experience we want you to encounter while using your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, davis.

There are a few reasons why the layout on the invoice won't match and reflect on the actual PDF. In this situation, display issues are caused by a piled-up cache on your browser. You have to ensure that your PDF reader and browser are updated before we can do some basic troubleshooting steps.

You can start by opening your QBSE account in a private window. It's also known as incognito mode in Google Chrome. This mode doesn't record the browser activity on your local device.

You can access this by pressing the following keys:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, you can now then clear the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above don't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.

In the meantime, if you've already tried the steps and the problem continues, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. It's the best we can do given that they have the resources to look into this further.

Once everything's settled, here's an article you can browse through on how to record your business transactions: Overview of QBSE.

If you need anything else, please know that I'm just one post away. I'd be glad to assist you at any time. Stay safe!
