Question

Does anyone know how to fix bank error 106 between QBO and First Horizon? The accounts are open, but I can't get any help from QB Customer Service to get them to connect

Try opening your QBO account on private/incognito browser. If the same error persists, you can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.

Hi there, @ksherman.

I understand the importance of connecting your bank to QuickBooks Online. I'm here to ensure that you're able to do so. Bank error 106 usually happens when QB is unable to locate your account on your account on your bank or financial institution's website. This usually happens when the account is closed.

If you accidentally close your bank institution's account and need to disconnect, you can refer to this article: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online. It contains steps on how you can properly troubleshoot this error message.

For reference, you can visit this article: Fix bank error 106 in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can visit this article if you want to review your downloaded bank and credit card transaction: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I'm all ears if you need further help about bank errors in QBO. I'm just one post away.

Thank you for the information.  This has been a "supposed" issue since Nov. of 2023.  I have called this in a number of times, they set up a case and then a couple of weeks later, they send me the same information you shared and close the case.

QBO has been saying that it is an issue that all First Horizon customers are experiencing.

I will try the disconnect again.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I'm also having this issue. My account is not closed. I've been disconnecting and reconnecting my First Horizon accounts to fix another issue when I then hit this one.

Is anyone else having the issue of not getting First Horizon check numbers coming through on Bank Detail, Description, or Check No columns?

The description/bank detail used to also include the check number. Now it simply says "Check Paid." Even if I have the Check No column visible, it's blank. My bank is First Horizon, and they've checked multiple times everything they can on their end. When I manually import the bank data the check number is there, but it does not show any more from the automatic bank connection. Huge loss from a great feature, when working properly.

That wasn't a resolution. It was advising me to reach out to QBO via chat, which also doesn't work properly. This continues to be an issue. I'm still having to manually import my transactions.

First Horizon is the WORST when it comes to QB bank sync.  I have spent hours and hours trying to get it to work.  I have multiple clients using multiple versions of QBD & QBO.  Don't waste your time on the 'solutions' provided by Intuit - verify & rebuild, etc - they *might* work for a little while but will stop again soon.  Best solution I've found is to export as .qfx, open in Notebook and override Intuit Bank ID with another bank's ID and then save as .qbo to import.

go to the first horizon bank site where it ask you to enter your user name and password copy the url and paste it into the link bank in your qbo product and see if that works.
