I’ve had the same thing happen, started a couple of days ago.  For months end, hasn’t been fun. The website still works however, it is not not in my routine at all.

I'm here to provide information on why your expense categories aren't appearing in QuickBooks mobile app, tm61 and Lponwith.

I'd like to better understand your concern. Could you please let me know if you're using an Android or iOS device? This will help me check for any ongoing investigations related to your issue and the software you're using.

If you're using iOS, I found an ongoing investigation (INV-105728) regarding Expense Categories not showing in the QuickBooks Mobile App (iOS).

If you're using an Android device, let's begin with some basic troubleshooting steps. Follow these instructions to proceed.

Here's How:

  1. Go to the More Options.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Refresh Data.
  4. Then select Yes.

If you encounter the same issue after refreshing the data, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, followed by restarting your phone. Please refer to this article for detailed steps: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
