Does anyone know why QuickBooks only did my expenses for this year and not last year? How can I add my 2023 expenses if it's not showing?

Going back, if you connect your bank to QBO, there's only a specific date range of data your financial institution allows to sync to QBO.

To add the missing expense transactions, we can manually upload them. First, let's fetch your data from your financial institution.

Here's how:

1. Sign in to your bank's website and follow your bank's guidelines on downloading a CSV file of your data.
2. Modify the date period of transactions that need to be imported. The period should be at least a day earlier than your oldest transaction.
3. Download the transaction. Then, save the file on your device in CSV file format.

Next, let's upload the CSV file of your transactions to QBO by following the steps below:

1. Log in to your QBO account.
2. Go to the Transactions menu and choose Bank transactions.
3. Make sure to select the bank account to which the transactions belong.
4. Click the dropdown arrow beside the Link account. Then, select Upload from file.
5. On the Import bank transactions page, drag and drop or select files from your device.
6. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, choose where the transaction should be uploaded.
7. Match the file columns accordingly in QBO, then hit Continue.
8. Pick the transactions you want to download. Then, click Continue.
9. Select Yes, then hit Done.
