Question

Does anyone know why the Journal Entries search is not functioning properly? It should return to your searching options, but it doesn't. Can someone help me?

after you select the transaction, the JE search function deletes your searching criteria.  It should go back to your searching criteria.  It used to work properly, but now it's not.

This is not the experience we want our users to have with using QuickBooks,Ispace. And I know how important that your business can access journal entries. Let me help you with your concerns about searching for transactions in your Journal Entry.

 

I appreciate you taking all the steps to search the transactions in your Journal Entry. So in order for the Journal Entry search to function properly and return to the searching options make sure to follow these steps that I'll be providing:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Click on the general search button of QuickBooks Online.
  3. Navigate to Go to transactions search.
  4. Select the Transaction type tab.
  5. Type in Journal. Then you will be routed to the Journal Entry you made.
  6. After you view the Journal Entries that you made. Click the Clear filters so that you will return to the search options.

So if it happens that you already clicked on the Clear filters and you still did not return to the search options. I recommend using a private window, which does not store temporary files. You can open an incognito window by using the following keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

 

If this solves the issue, you can also clear Intuit-specific cookies to refresh website preferences that may be causing problems when using QuickBooks Online.
