Hello there, Joey. I'm here to share some insights regarding invoices and receiving payments.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), creating an invoice is necessary if you need to bill customers for services or products provided, allowing them to pay at a later date. Afterward, when customers pay these invoices, you need to record the payment or create a Receive Payment transaction to mark the invoice as Paid. Additionally, you can record full or partial payments on an invoice, ensuring that your accounts remain balanced.

On the other hand, if your customer comes to your business and pays it immediately, you can create Sales Receipts. There's no need to create a receive payment in sales receipts since it is used for immediate payments at the time of purchase.
