macOS 14.2.1

QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2021 Version V20.0.13 R14.2

With a (manually) entered and saved credit card charge selected, I choose:

Edit > Duplicate Credit Card Charge

That menu item is active, but after selecting it, the credit card charge is not duplicated.

I looked in QuickBooks Desktop Mac 201 Help, I searched:

duplicate credit card charge

… but there are no applicable results.

I appreciate you for posting in the Community, bobqkbx1. Let me help you show duplicate credit card charges in your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

First off, let's update your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac to the latest release. An outdated version of QuickBooks can cause technical issues.

Once you've updated, I suggest running the Verify and Rebuild Data Utilities in QBDT for Mac. The Verify Data utility identifies any potential data damage problem that might've caused unusual behavior like opening empty tabs. While the Rebuild Data utility repairs damaged data in your company file. Beforehand, you'll have to secure a backup copy of your company file.

To Verify data:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Scroll down to Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.
  4. Click OK.

To Rebuild Data:

  1. Go back to the File menu.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data.
  4. Click on OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.

For further details, you can open this article: Verify and rebuild data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Lastly, you can also check this article on how to reconcile your accounts to match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile accounts in QuickBooks for Mac.

I'm only a post away if you have other questions or concerns about duplicate credit card charges in your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. I'm more than happy to offer help. Have a nice day.

Thank you for your quick reply and things for me to do.

The version of QuickBooks I listed is the latest ("QuickBooks 20.0.13.1096 R14.2 is currently the newest version available.").

I ran Verify Data: "No problems have been detected in your QuickBooks data."

I ran Rebuild Data: "Reload and rebuild has completed."

"you can also check this article on how to reconcile your accounts to match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile accounts in QuickBooks for Mac."

I'm not asking how to do that; as I wrote, the transaction (credit card charge) I am trying to duplicate was entered manually.

When you attempt to do what I am after in the QuickBooks product I am using, does it work for you?
