Duplicate methods of payment

I see a duplicate method of payment when I am receiving payments.  How do I remove one of the duplicates methods?

I'll walk you through the process of deleting a payment method that you've created, perry17.
 

QuickBooks won't allow us to record the exact name and information when recording a payment method. However, since you notice a duplicate method in your books, you can follow these steps to eliminate it from the list.

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select All lists.
  2. Click Payment Methods.
  3. Find the payment method you want to remove.
  4. Click the Run report drop-down arrow.
  5. Choose Make inactive.

 

If you didn't find a duplicate method in the list and still see it when receiving payment, you can access your QBO account in a private browser. It creates a separate session, isolating it from your regular browsing activities. It helps us determine if it is acting unusual using your regular browser.

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: press: Shift + CTRL + P

 

If everything works well in the private browser, you can try clearing the cache to optimize your QBO account. Alternatively, you can also use a different supported browser.
