Question

Entering a notation in the 'Description' box of a transaction.

When I enter a transaction in Quickbooks Online, the 'memo' box shows up but not the 'description' box. So when I generate reports later, I have to go back in and manually add a description to the transaction. Is there a way I can change the display so that the Description box shows up with the screen where I enter in all the information about the transaction (instead of having to go back and 'edit' the transaction, when the 'description' box does finally appear)?

Thanks to anyone who can help solve this little snag...

I understand the advantage of seeing the description of the transaction in QuickBooks, @tad151.

Currently, the option to add a description of a transaction is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I see this is essential to your business, so I'd recommend sending feedback to our product development team. They'll carefully review your idea and may consider it for future updates.

To submit your suggestion:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Type in your product suggestions.
  3. Select Next to submit.

We truly appreciate your valuable feedback and acknowledge your contribution towards improving our product.

I'd also suggest checking out our blog site to be updated on the new features rolled out by our product developers.

Additionally, you can also check out this link that discusses customizing templates and sending sales forms in QuickBooks Online for your reference: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else that I can assist you with managing transactions, let me know. I'll be right here to answer them for you, @tad151 Take care!
