Error submitting return INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR

My VAT return got rejected by HMRC with INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR but I've spoken to HMRC and everything is ok from there side, just shows as open. The software says there is an error, but takes me to page with a Prepare Return button that won't respond to clicking on. HMRC say they can't do anything, you need to force the software to prepare the return again. I only have a day before penalties

Hi jonmzz, thanks for posting on the Community.

We'd be happy to help you with your VAT submission. For troubleshooting purposes, please try submitting the return by signing into QuickBooks via an incognito/private browsing window (on Chrome or MS Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + n to open). If the prepare return button remains unresponsive, try pressing Ctrl + F5 to refresh the site.

If you're still unable to submit following this, get back to us below with the start and end dates for the period that you're trying to submit. For privacy, you can also begin a direct chat

Hi G34, thanks for joining this thread. We recommend working with your accountant or tax professional to ensure the return is correct. If you don't already have one, we can help you Find an Accountant near you.

The VAT return should include all transactions for the accounting period with the relevant VAT code applied. We've put together a guide with tips to help you prepare that you can access here.

Thanks for reaching Intuit support. I'm just a post away if you have further questions or require additional assistance.
