Fraud call from Quickbooks

I got a voice mail from Jacob ([removed]) saying that my annual service renewal was due and when i called back them someone named Tom answered the call saying the same and when i asked him about the card details he just said the last four digits randomly which i have never heard of it and i tried reaching intuit they said i have no due on my account.

A suspicious email is sometimes a scam to get you to provide personal information. These scams come in a variety of forms, but they all look pretty convincing. If you're not sure whether an email came from Intuit, look for the following signs:

 

  • We’ll never ask for your info in an email.
  • Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com.
  • Any link we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address.

 

If you receive an Intuit email you aren't sure about, see our security notices for details of suspicious emails reported by other customers.

 

Also, I encourage you to report the fraudulent activity to our Intuit Security team by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to this link: https://security.intuit.com/.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Look for Report a fake email (or phishing email) and click on it.


If you want to speak to live support, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the necessary tools and can help you further in a much more secure space.

 

Our support for Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday). For Advanced, any time, any day.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

These calls are common.  NEVER give your info. NEVER call back the number they give you or the one they call from.  Intuit/ QB will never call and ask you for a credit card or tell you that your acct needs to renew.  They just shut you off.  

 

@LollyNino_C   FRAUDULENT EMAILS END THE SAME WAY!!  It's called phishing.  Look it up.

    I just had this happen too and the most concerning thing is that they had the last 4 of the bank account as well. Did anything ever come of it for you? Was your account safe?

    It’s concerning that someone has partial details of your bank account. While the last digit alone doesn’t grant full access, it can be used in fraudulent activities when combined with other information. I suggest contacting your bank to check for suspicious activity and take the necessary actions to secure your account.

     

    Intuit uses different email addresses to communicate with its customers. If you've received one that you believe is from us, you may use the information on this link to check if it's legitimate: Official email communication from Intuit Payments.

     

    If it looks suspicious, please report the fraudulent activity to our Intuit Security team by following these steps:
