Question

Future dated invoices on Sales By Customer Detail report won't export

When I run the standard Sales By Customer Detail report and select Custom Dates for the Report Period and enter only dates in the future, the report will run successfully and display accurate data on the screen but it will not export the data to Excel or PDF.  The export just shows a blank page.  Oddly, if I combine both dates in the past AND the future, the report will export successfully and shows both the dates in the past and the future.  Am I missing something?

Hello, Insight2014. Allow me to help you in exporting your reports.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can export your reports by going to the Reports menu, Customize the details according to your preference, and then clicking the Export/Print dropdown. Normally, when you choose to export, it will go to the Downloads folder.

Since you've mentioned that you can't export them whenever you enter the dates in the future, you can use a private browser to rule out any browsing history or cached files causing the problem. Here are the shortcut keys for accessing private browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you want to learn more about adjusting your reports according to your liking and then exporting them outside QBO, you can check out this website:
