Using quickbooks enterprise 24. Cannot figure out how to generate a general ledger report showing the Indvidual transactions within a split. What I'm trying to accomplish is generating a complete detailed list of all credit and debits and that report needs to include details within each -split- out so i can export to excel in the format I need.

Really there is no 'within a split'  The General Ledger shows every row of every posting transaction, not together, but by account. The report does show all credits and debits, but not arranged by transaction.

"Source" rows, like the AR account for an invoice, show "split" in the detail account when there are multiple detail rows on the transaction, because no one account can be the 'other' account in this case.

If you don't want to see the accounting rows grouped by account, start with a Transaction Detail report, which displays all the accounting rows with no predefined grouping.

Hello, Aglcapt.

I understand how important it is for you to generate a General Ledger report that includes details for your split transactions.

However, that option is currently not available. For now, you need to open individual split transactions separately to view the details.

I'm adding this article for more tips while running your basic reports in QuickBooks Desktop: Understand reports.

Further, you can also check the View the Transaction Journal report. This shows your debits and credits for each transaction and provides a more focused view of amounts and accounts not visible from the transaction itself.

If you need further help managing your reports, add them in the comment section. I'm here and ready to assist you.

@GlinetteC  RE: I understand how important it is for you to generate a General Ledger report that includes details for your split transactions.  However, that option is currently not available.

That's completely inaccurate nonsense! Where do you get ideas like this? Do you just make them up?

All transaction details appear on a General Ledger. That is the very point of a General Ledger. Thus the name. General Ledger, meaning all-encompassing.  Maybe get informed before answering questions. Just a thought.
