I want to be able to add a field in the chart of accounts so I can prepare industry reports is this possible?

The customization of reports is very limited and is not allowing me assign other categories to the chart of accounts for reporting purposes

I can help you by providing information about the chart of accounts and reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @jhunt-4508.

 

The ability to add a field in the chart of accounts isn't possible. Meanwhile, I'd suggest sending feedback to our Product Developers team. They can review your suggestions and consider adding them in future releases.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Hit the Gear icon at the top, then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit feedback.

 

To get updates about the status of your feedback, you may visit the Customer Feedback page.

 

On the other hand, we can choose what specific customization you want in the Customize column. Otherwise, we can export the report to customize further.

 

Moreover, assigning categories can be done one transaction at a time.
