Question

Has anyone figured out how to put spaces in between lines on invoices and estimates? each time I put them in when I got to print or send it deletes the spaces. Help

The invoices look very congested and messy when there are no spaces between sections. I have been spacing for years and now the new updates won't let me keep the lines

I've got you covered, @ryan172.

Currently, it's not possible to apply spaces between lines on invoices and estimates using QuickBooks Online's (QBO) new invoice and estimates experience.

However, there is a workaround available for QuickBooks Plus and Advanced users. If you are one of them, then you can revert to the old layout to apply spaces between lines. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Click on the + New button.
  2. Select Invoice
  3. Click on the Old Layout button located in the top-right corner of the screen.
  4. Press the Switch to the old layout button.

If you're a Simple Start and Essentials user, please note that this feature is not available as this update has been rolled out.

Moreover, I can see the importance of this feature in helping us refine the invoice and estimates experience. Thus, I encourage sending a product suggestion to our engineering team so they can add this feature back in the upcoming updates. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions
  3. Select Next to submit.

We value your input and it's shared with our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QBO (QBOP). To track your feature requests, you can visit the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Additionally, you can browse this article for personalizing your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online
